The baseball game for us consisted of packing our cheeks and gullets with all the salty peanuts and Vanilla Cokes we could handle. The Emeralds, in their sassy pink pinstripes, tantalized us with hits, blown leads, and an eventual W in the Win/Loss column with dramatic fashion. Our minds were enlightened with the jovial realiztion that baseball games are merely social gatherings complete with food and drink; they are not serious forms of competitive sports. After this hearty understanding was ours, we basked in every minute at Civic Stadium.
